Good Mood Choir

Researchers have found that music and singing release dopamine and endorphins, the feel-good chemicals in your brain that makes you feel uplifted and happy, as well as simply taking your mind off the day's troubles, so it's no wonder why it's seen as being a good boost for your mental health.

What is Good Mood Choir?

Good Mood Choir is a new intergenerational singing project that brings people from ages 12 to 112 together to use singing as a way to de-stress, make new connections and have some fun.

What happens in a session?

  • These workshops will meet weekly to learn singing techniques that help us feel good.

  • No experience is necessary.

  • Some sessions may take place outdoors.

  • We'll pick feel good songs from oldies to contemporary songs.

How does singing help us?

Studies have shown that singing can release dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin, which are involved in mood regulation, pleasure, and social bonding.

Where are the sessions?

We are currently setting up a weekly session in Matlock. To be added to the waiting list, just contact us HERE.

Music serves as an instrument for emotional regulation, alleviating stress, anxiety and bolstering self-confidence.
